内容简介:Understanding the neural substrates of human behavior remains a fundamental objective in neuroimaging. While traditional functional connectivity (FC) metrics derived from Pearson correlations in fMRI data have proven valuable for predicting behavioral and phenotypic variations, it inherently lacks capacity to characterize dynamic causal relationships between brain regions. Effective connectivity (EC) addresses this limitation by modeling directed, neurobiologically plausible interactions, thereby providing deeper mechanistic insights into brain-behavior relationships. This presentation will introduce EC concepts and cutting-edge computational EC frameworks through four integrated investigations and demonstrate EC's superior utility in predicting individual behavioral differences, phenotypic traits, and clinical applications.

个人简介:Dr. Zhang completed his doctoral research in mathematical neuroscience under Dr. Oleksandr V. Popovych at the Institute of Neuroscience and Medicine (INM-7), Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany. Currently doing a postdoctoral research program in Zhang’s lab at Southern Medical University. The work integrates multimodal MRI approaches with dynamic causal modeling to investigate the cognitive processing mechanism in stimulus-response compatibility, neural correlates of spatial navigation, and neurocomputational biomarkers in major depressive disorder.
